Default Another speed sensor problem

Hi all,
I have a '99 1500 4x4 with the 5.9. A few months ago I replaced the speed sensor on the pumpkin because my brake and ABS lights came on, and my speedometer wouldn't work when I was going less than 30mph. After I replaced it, the problem went away.

So tonight I was driving down a back road with no shoulder. I was doing 40mph and I hit a pile of slush that was left by some jack*** plowing their driveway and pushing the snow across the road. The slush made my truck veer to the right and my right side tires went off the road. (This is EXACTLY why it is illegal to push snow across a public road!) I could hear snow and slush hitting the underside of my truck, along with a few rocks and sticks. After I regained control I looked down and my speedometer wasn't working and my brake and ABS lights were on. @$#%!

I'm thinking it's my speed sensor again but now the speedometer doesn't work at all, not even when I get above 30mph. Why? Also, how would hitting a bunch of slush cause this sensor to quit working? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Anyone? Would a faulty speed sensor cause the speedometer to not work at all? Why would hitting some slush cause it to go out?

Clean the connection on the rear abs sensor and the connection on the sensor on the side of the transfer case if you have one there.

Pull your connectors off the 2 sensors mentioned above. Clean the prongs and receptacles real good. Then smear dielectric grease on them and reconnect. Also look for frayed wires at the same time. Heres a trick I learned from a trailer guy. Spray Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner on the electric connection to clean them. Leave it for a few minutes then rinse with clean water and blow dry with compressed air. Cheaper and more effective than contact cleaner. It really works.
