Default Help/ Oil Pressure Question

Hey guy's, new guy here. I just bought yesterday a 1996 Dodge 3500 4X4 with a V-10 and auto trans. It only has 128,000 miles. It has a Mechanical oil pressure gauge hooked to the oil filter area. At idle I have 0 oil pressure at 70mph I have 25. A buddy of mine said I need to bleed the line as he thinks there is air in it? What do you pro's think. Thank you Steve

may be a clogged port

and if you hve 0 PSI at idle, its a bad idea to go up to 70 with only 25PSI IMO

any knocking?

I can only assume that the sensor either isn't there or is disconnected.

It was probably cheaper to hook up the mechanical one. I changed out my sensor. My old one gave me zero readings then climb when I gave it gas. The new sensor was astronomically high. We use to call them oil sendor switch. I guess by calling them sensors rather than switches you can charge a ton.

Default Up-Date on Oil Issue

Ok so today I decided to bleed the oil line. It did help some so now I have 0 at idle and at 1,200 rpm 20 psi and at 2,000 rpm 30 ish. If I quick rev it I get 60. So I guess for now it will be ok. Thanks every one who replyed. Steve
