its more like 137$ for the gasket kit and bolts. then you need to go to advance and get a good felpro plenum gasket because the kit comes with a crap metal compression gasket.
to go along with what greenmachine is saying, the steel plate is only about 1/16" thick so that could explain bolts that are too long.
and the stock gasket isn't a steel backed rubber like the ones felpro has now and that is why it blows out between the bolts. well that and the fact that it isn't as tight as it ought to be because the bolts bottom out.

I think the APS plate is a better deal than the Hughes. Comes with everything.

theproblem was steel to aluminum, and the heat makes them expand differently causing leaks.
and i got the Hughes Kit in mine...And if i own another Ram that has a plenum issue, since my next vehicle will be another ram, i would definatly buy the kit again. just for the hughes plate and 2nd day shipping it cost me 116 and thats it.

and his statement of someone else only doing that when servicing multiple rams and never having one come back kinda backs that up....
I could see both the steel and the bolts contributing to the issue but can also see the bolts correcting it without the need of the plate.

I agree with you 100% Augie. I think that the Hughes kit has taken on a life of it's own. As if it's the end all be all. I'm gonna try out the shorter bolts in the spring when I do my kegger mod just to see if it REALLY works. Hopefully I can do it sooner then that but the weather isn't that great right now.

i just bought all the stuff the huges plate and bolts were $104 and i got the felpro intake gasket set from summit for $25 so for $129 thats the better than APS and Hughes kit which is like $139+ $19SH. i also got other stuff from summit E3 plugs, MSD wires, Mopar performance cap and rotor, and hypertech 180 thermostat to bump my shipping to $11 but its personal preference. just have to go to auto zone for the thermostat and throttle body gasket now
