Lift Confusion
UGH
Ok so I am putting all the pieces together for my hunting truck and I have run into a snag. I can not for the life of me decide on a lift.
Option 1 : Ebay Rough Country 3" lift
Pro: Affordable and I have used before ($400)
Con: Have to buy tires as can only fit 33's ($700-1K
Option 2: Ebay Rough Counrty 5" Lift
Pro: Affordable ($800)
Con: Lift blocks rougher ride
Option 3: Skyjacker 4" lift
Pro: Quality and includes replacement rear springs
Con: Price 1K and I have some 315/70/17 BFG All Terrains which I worry about rub, or when I go to Mud Grapplers will they rub
I would love to spend the 1K on the Skyjacker but it is only 4" to go to 5" add another $300.
I got this truck for a steal and have a lot of parts gathering I just worry about blowing the budget but I want to be happy. Any Ideas??????????

you can clear 35" tires with a 3" lift and 5" backspaced rims.... throw a simple 1 1/2" coil shim in the front if you want extra clearance...
if you do a lot offroad than you want bigger lift or smaller tires ...same advise I gave yesterday on the other lift thread asking the same thing...
if you checked that thread you would get your answers instantly ..... not trying to be a dick but this same question comes up every day...the answers are always the same.... try the search function...use "" marks and it works better...
I have a body lift 4" and 35"mudders so you can see from my picks plenty of room....more between tire and fender with more backspacing on turns

Except my question wasn't what fit and what hit my question was asking opinions. I didn't say will this fit I said I can't decide between 3" and 33's or 4"-35's or 5"-35's. Just confused as to what to do but before I drop that much coin maybe someone has experience different than mine with Rough Country or Skyjacker for that matter. Maybe some one has experience with a 4" lift and 5"lift as it effects other things.
I have been on plenty of websites and know how the search function works and I did but opinions change as well and I am not trying to be a dick either I am just confused as the title states.
If anyone is offended by this post and feels as though they have given their answer enough on this subject you have my full permission and respect not to respond as I am not trying to waste anyones time, other than that opinions welcome.

oh so you already know what fits with what but want someone else to tell you which to go with? all of the lift threads are pretty much this exact question...depending on who answers you get different opinions you'll be in the same boat or worse as people will chime in with more options and scenarios....but...
My opinion, backed up with the facts I know...if you still have factory gearing in your axles go with 33" tires as 35"s will cost you a lot of power with 3.55 gears.....it will drive like a v6 truck at best...
3" and 33" tires will give you about the same clearance as 5" lift and 35"...... you know what I got 4.56 gear, 4" lift and 35" mudders (brand new) clear fine on road and slow offroading with 5.5 inch backspacing I switched to 4.5" backspaced rim and it can rub if i hit a bump while at full lock turning and if I did a lot of offroading I would prefer more lift than I have.....35' tires will never give you the same power handling and mpg as 33' tires with proper gears...the higher you go the more of a trade off you have on things.... bteer offroad and can look cooler (subject to opinion) but will cost more and wear things out faster...

Actually,..option #3 is what I'm getting for christmas,...and it is actually a 4.5" lift for $713.00 from Skyjacker...on sale this month,..+ $165.00 for the extended shocks = $878.00+ taxes+ shipping...yes a grand or so. But! you get that extra 1/2 inch you were missing on your quotes between the 4" and 5" #'s. [35" fit on this lift].

I think it's pretty close to par right now....but these prices I'm quoting for the lift kit are in U.S. funds.

This is the one I was talking about 10% off but I just noticed it doesn't show a drop pitman arm.
