I am not too sure if they'd be able to tell me what exactly needs replaced without pulling the transmission.
after a test drive and a pressure test, an experienced shop knows EXACTLY what it needs. might be a couple of surprises that run the price up. for the most part - its sort of a standard rebuild kit.
I know this may not be a big help. But I have a 5-45RFE out of a 04 1500. 2K on it befor it came out of the truck. I only wanted the Hemi and had to take both. Anyway I would take 1000 for it. I am in DFW.
Are the governor pressure soleniod and sensor standard parts to replace on a rebuild? I'd hate to get it back and find out there are still issues with it.
that's a good question to ask the shop, and would be listed on a parts list or build sheet. on a dodge - they should be.
you might want to look/listen for the words - sonnax sure cure kit. dodge needs it.
+1 on replacing the freeze plugs on the back of the block and heads. they'll charge you a little extra for that. its worth it to do it now, rather than having to pull the trans at some later date.
