Cool New Engine Break In Period???

Is it really necessary to break in an engine? When i lease my 07 F-150 I pulled it off the lot with 10 miles on it and put it to the floor boards and it went like a bat out of hell for 2 yrs. Are they already broke in from the manuf. plant?

I ask this cuz i rebuilt my 5.2 in my ram and im sick of pampering the biotch. I really just want to hammer down and tear **** up. Any answers to my question?

Yeah, it essential to a long life of an engine, espcially if you re-built it. Drive it for 1000-1500 miles before beating on it.
