Default Decisions... Decisions...

Ok Here goes, My Transmission is about done in my truck, she's slipping, making a horrible Whining noise in Reverse, when Reverse actually engages, other times, I can't even get it to move in Reverse, and sometimes she doesnt like to shift out of 2nd (have to do it manually)

So I have a couple options.

I found a Brand new Rebuilt Transmission, out of a 1999 4x4, just like mine for $500 with the Transfercase if I ever need another one. I was really tempted to buy this until I found something else.

I also found a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Single Cab Short bed for only $900. It's Transmission was rebuilt in March of 09, but now the motor is bad. This truck looks really good on the outside body wise, only a couple small dents, paint is still good, Custom wheels, Custom painted Grille and Bumpers, the inside is Fair looking, no Dash Cracks which is good, and No rust.
Wish I had a picture of the truck, but I don't.

I was thinking if I put a new Motor in the truck, then I could turn around and sell it for around $4,500-$5,500 At least.

The only thing is, suposedly the truck has a loan on it, but after 3 years they never came to pickup the truck, so that makes me a little weary.

Whats do you guys think?

i would go for the brand new rebuilt trans. $500 is not too bad. i know i would not want to mess with a trck that has a loan on it, could mess with your credit.

Yeah that sounds like a sticky situation. I'd go with the $500 one IMO.
