You might be a Redneck if....
If you finally check your air filter and find the rag that you used to wipe the dipstick had been sucked up in the air filter box! I guess I had laid it down and forgot to put it up.
Been making all these mods to improve MPG, decided I needed to check the filter, and there she was, a rag that was blocking about 2/3 of the filter. Don't have a clue how long it's been there, but checked the mileage yesterday and it was up to nearly 16.
Silly me!

atleast it wasnt sucked through the engine.
a guy in a stall next to me when I was in Bosnia blew a Detroit Diesel 903 this way. he cranked the engine, it started up, and there goes the rag. bent the fins on the turbo, mangled the blower, it caused the engine to run away. only way to stop it was to shove a clip board to the intake and suffocate the engine. when the rag went through the blower it busted some oil lines causeing the engine to run off the engine oil.
Ive seen these engines run away. the turbo produces enough boost to literaly blow the heads off[sm=jawdrop.gif]
