how long dose it takes to do a water pump in a 1999 dodge ram 4x4 with a 5.2

If you know what your doing, about 1-2 hours. If you don't, then all day.

^+1 also while your there you might as well replace timing gear, timing cover gasket, front seal. Another couple of hours. Check out the FSM.

i did my WP in a hour, and maybe an extra 15 minutes getting the fan off.

about an hour and half took me 2 but I took the long route and took everything off and cleaned it up while I was there figured might as well............and it wasn't my truck it was a buddies and he paid in beer (which was NOT consumed while working on truck)

GET A NEW BYPASS HOSE

i made the mistake of not changing this, and had to tear it down again 700 miles later to replace it.
