Default Drivers window help

How is the glass held in on these trucks? I have a 97' single cab that I bought about 2 months ago. The windows have manual regulators and have worked great. Last week when it got really cold here the window froze up. When I tried to force it down it popped inside the door and the glass detached from the 2 pieces the glass sits in. I slid it back in but it won't stay when I roll it down. Are these windows glued in or attached some other way? I can see no way of it staying in the small channels.

TIA,
Roy

ok roy i do glass for a living ans you just screwed yourself the glass is epoxyed into those plastic clips ( as you say ) you can do this 2 different ways 1 get another window and never worry if they will pull out again. Or 2 take them out use a drill bit and drill the grove out ( to just clean out old epoxy then get a 1/8 in drill bit drill hole on the flat side of tab. Now this for both tabs you have to do it too, clean the glass with razor blade and glass cleaner get good 3m epoxy (Perfered the white cup with clear cover individual use) mix it up and put into the groves of plasic tabs bolt back onto the regulator

Hope this helps

epoxy worked great on both windows on my thunderbird when they decided to let go of the plastic slots that they sit in.

if you strip your 12 year old retainers that hold the door panel on then go here > http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Tri...s_p/a19213.htm

If yours did what mine did, the actual slides busted out of the regulator, I still have yet to replace it, anyone know how to get the glass out to replace the regulator?

Thats what I was afraid had happened. I thought they were past this glueing in junk. I used to have to glue them in on my 69' mustang and
hated it.

Thanks for the feedback,

Roy

I have to glue my GF's passenger window on her '96 1500 Ram. I just installed it, put the window up and unplugged the motor so it's at least up. I was looking at expoxys at Pep Boys and am not sure want kind to buy. I don't know of another store to check other the Home depot or Lowes which I will do today. I guess any that say they will stick to metal and glass will work. I got some Loctite 349 but I don't think it will get enough UV to cure and I'm not sure if it is "thick" enough either, I though maybe just use it to glue window right into the old urethane. Local glass shop said they would do it for $50(crazy). Not sure if a 2 part liquid kind or a 2 part putty type that you knead in your hands to activate would work better? Any ideas or experince would help out
