Default can i swap to a cummins?

hi, i got a 94 2500 ram and it has the 360 with an auto. im wondering if i could put in a cummins 12 valve and a 5 speed trans. the truck is 4 wheel drive and is a regular cab with a long bed, if any of that matters. if i can do this, do you have a ball park on price and all the materials i would need?
thanks for any help

theoretically because it's the same frame and body if you took out the 360 with that auto, and dropped in a cummins with an auto tranny, to fit the motor, should bolt up (dont hold me to that statement, im no where near an expert) but im sure there would be problems. like computer, gauges (i figured it would still work but maybe not) etc. as for puttin in a manual just dont go there. in my opinion you would be better to sell your truck now and buy a cummins. and get the 6-speed if you did. much better all around.

it's doable

just build a strong auto trans to hold the cummins (you'll want to mod it, believe me, i run diesel tractors & semi trucks, and always want more power)

if possible, get the gauge cluster from the donor truck and you'll need to swap the pump/sender module on the fuel tank (diesel has a return line, gas don't)

well in my OPINON it would be much simpler during the "swap" and down the road to just buy a cummins. but thats just me.

I'm gonna shove some common sense up your *** and say yes. Anything is possible if you have the time and money. Remember possible, not practical.

You'll need a donor truck to get the front suspension, wiring, engine, transmission, transfer case, axles, you might as well swap in the 11'' 3/4 ton frame in. Like I said, possible, not practical.

Sorry, I was wrong about that. 3/4 and 1 ton trucks have a 9.5'' center section. 1/2 tons have a 7''.
