i had to do my wheel bearing about a month ago, how did you get the hub out? use a puller?

My buddy went to put a 3-jaw puller on it, and broke the puller. in the end i put the bolts in back side of the hub and hit them with a hammer. pain in the *** >.>

The easiest way I've found to do it is to bend the tab up on the brake backing plate and dump penetrating oil in the slot under it. Then wedge a socket and and a short extension between the hub bolt and the axel. Using the truck's power steering you turn the wheel into the socket and it pops free. I don't know how well this would work on the 1500 as I believe they have 3 bolts in place of the 2500/3500's 4. Just my $.02
