Default Sorry...stupid questions...vacuum lines and exhaust diameters

Sorry guys, I need to find out a couple of things and I've searched for hours for answers and found nothing. I need help with my vacuum lines...I pulled out the engine on my 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 (360 v8) and I can't for the life of me figure out the vacuum line routing. If anyone has a picture of their passenger side engine bay that shows the lines please post it so I have something to go off of. Problem is that I bought a used engine which had some lines on it still, and I got the 2 sets mixed up and took some things apart, and yea...I'm lost right now. Also, I want to put a X pipe in where the stock cat used to be (truck already had it missing when I bought it) Right now the two down pipes off the manifolds meet up about maybe 2 inches apart from eachother, and are cut flush where they would have went into a single cat (its the light duty single oxygen sensor and cat design) I need to know what the diameter of those pipes are so I can order the correct X pipe for them. I'd measure them myself but the pipes are not at my house and I won't have access to them until after this weekend. Sorry for the stupid questions...it's just that these are my final steps in getting this beast back on the road and I'm so anxcious...thanks everyone.

It's pretty damn good. It helps a ton, I now know where to put that Y piece, thanks man! Any other shots would be helpful as well, and again, anyone know what the stock diameter is on the pipes coming off the manifold? Thanks!

I'll go measure now, I'm not going to be able to measure where the exhaust manifold meets the y-pipe, but I believe the diameter is the same all the way through.

EDIT: My exhaust pipe is 2 and 1/2 inches.

I guess you would call them the Y pipe...I didn't think they met up before the cat though. From the pictures I've seen the cat acted as the joint where the pipes go from 2 to 1. One guy said 2", one says 2.5"...I'm sort of leaning twards the 2.5". From what I rememeber they were pretty big pipes. Maybe the 318 had different diameter pipes than the 360's?

I myself have a 2 into one cat and a big fat pipe that looks to step up from 2 1/2 at cat end to 3" at muffler inlet and dual 2 1/2 pipes from muffler back? maybe my whole exhaust is aftermarket? I do have headers....

I guess I'll just wait until I have access to my old pipes. I plan on doing something special with the engine I pulled out of the truck when I bought it, and keep the one in it now pretty much stock. But, I don't want to run a cat, and I figured welding in a X pipe where the cat would have conjoined the 2 pipes (or where the Y would have been) would be an easy solution to an exhaust set up. I want to drill and weld in a oxygen sensor bung in the middle of the X of the pipe so that I can run an upstream oxygen sensor, and use a cheater for the downstream. I just don't want to buy a 2.5" X pipe and find out the pipes are only 2" that need to be welded to it. Again, thanks for the vacuum line picture. It's about 30 degrees out and dark right now so I'll probably reroute the lines tomorrow when I get off work early. I can't wait to get this thing to work so I can replace the ball joints, wheel bearings, and do an alignment. Maybe I'll try installing my 3" body lift too if I have time. I bet having a car hoist would aid in lifting the body off for the install.
