Just out of curiosity what would it take to convert my truck to a cummins turbo? Is it even possible? Advantages? Disadvantages?

 

new rear end, new transfer case, tranny, motor, PCM, and probably more you'll need

advantages- cummins says it all

disadvantages- costly

 

Since you already have a 2500 I don't believe you would have to have a new rear end. Don't know what tranny you have, but if it is a 47re you are good to go. Besides the engine itself you would obviously need the new pcm, and total fuel system as well. Big job. I say if you want a Cummins, start looking for a used truck on craigslist. It is the path of least resistance.

 

easiest way find a wrecked cummins and put ur body and the wrecked chaise

 

Does anyone know about how much that would cost for just labor? If I was to pick up a wrecked cummins that had just mostly body damage and dropped all the necessary parts including the engine into my truck?

 

Probably more than what an entire truck with a cummins would cost.

If you really want a cummins (cant I don't blame you there), and don't plan on doing the swap yourself, I would suggest just buying a different truck. It will be cheaper in the long run.
