Doesn't the refining process remove impurities and separate the crude oil into groups by length of their molecular chains? How could it "revert" back a crude oil state?

.....I was able to get it before it melted the plastic over the firewall and did damage to the hood. But all my wiring and everything from the throttle body back got melted.
