97 wont start, youtube helps..
Try the simplest problem which was stated first, check your battery. Typically a auto parts store won't even charge you to check it. And if your connection isn't good as you simply set the connector on it, then it wont start.
Mine did that same thing when the starter went bad. It blew the starter solenoid fuse (20A) I believe. I replaced it and it would just click and blow the fuse. When I pulled the starter the solenoid contacts were almost worn through. I guess it was requiring too much amperage to engage the starter. I replaced the whole starter and all is fine. I believe you can replace just the contacts. I would have that battery checked first though as well as all of your electrical connections.
