I never heard that before. Not much different from 99-01.

With my luck, 2001 would be the worst.

Mine has 105k on her and runs great. Since new, the only issues have been the tranny (replaced at 30k), I blew the steering box out 4-wheeling in the sand back in 2001, and the brakes have been redone twice (once because the PO's nephew left the E brake on for a couple hundred miles). I don't abuse it beyond pulling a trailer now and then and I service her regularly. I would trade it for the economy of a diesel, though, but they run about $4,500 more on average for the same year and condition. And I paid less then $8k for mine back in March. The KBB was over $9k at the time.

00 and 01 1500 have better brakes, not sure about 2500's.
01 had the cleaner dash, without the cup holder clutter.
01's had more cracked dash problems.
other than that, not much difference

That price sounds way too high. If I could get 10k for mine I'd sell it in a heartbeat. I keep hearing guys saying how they are only worth 6 or 7k. I refuse to let mine go for that though. If I was buying one I wouldn't want to pay much more than that either. You can look at my other posts and see all the issues they have. I don't want to re type them all here as I'm sure most others have read them before.

Well, the price went down a tad bit. It's now at $9950. The only (ONLY) reason I'm going with a dealer (used) is that my credit is...well.... crappy at best. No banks will even look at me but, a dealership can get me finaced! I'm going to talk numbers with him tomorrow. Thanks to all who have chimed in on my post!

Derek,
