what about regular ole solvent and oil ? is all this same as a motor flush product?

In a motor flush product one will find petroleum distillates and solvents along with a surfacing agent and possibly additional cleaners and lubricants. With regular oil and solvent all you have is just that, oil and some solvent such as either Kerosene, Toluene, Acetone etc. Same with using diesel fuel. It too contains solvents and other additives but, it's not meant to be run / pumped through the engine like you can with a motor flush product. So, to answer your question, the answer is no, they are not the same chemically.

is reg solvent better or safer than diesel ? has anyone on here tried solvent?,wonder how it would work , seeing it evaperates(in small thin quantities<-----yeah i know,lol) and doesnt really leave a residue behind like diesel does.

Really? Wow. Kinda what I did. Poured about 1.5 quarts of diesel in the top of the block, let it all drain out. Refill with fresh oil, run for about 15 mins, drain and change oil and filter.

That was why I asked if you ran it or just poured it over. If you run it inside it really cleans it a lot more than when just pouring it in.

It's just tap - no die. A die is used to cut external threads on a fastener, pipe, solid stock etc while tapping is the process of cutting internal threads.

So, how often should you run the diesel and oil mix? like 30K miles? I still am kinda leery because the diesel might blow seals and gaskets. I cant belive I have never heard of this...
