Default Computer Question

Ok I promise to do a build thread so I can condense my questions but that is going to take some time and I need to either get this ordered or figure out what to do next so I am doing this thread. Search is kinda of vague because you can't search PCM.

I am about to finish my 318 to 360 swap and am lost on upgrading my computer.

Here is what I think I know:

A. I believe a place called B&G can do a custom pcm and ship it to me, that will require 92+ Octane and I hear ain't great for towing which I do.

B. Can the dealer just flash it and get it running right....any idea on price?

C. Can a handheld tuner (Superchips or Hypertech) fix this?

I knew if all else failed I could get a custom one made I am just trying to figure out what other options there are so I can get a decision made, any and ALL help is appreciated.

Do you have to use 92 octane with the SCT? I sent him a PM earlier.

The SCT can do three tunes, IIRC. You plug in the programmer, push a few buttons and wait a few minutes at most (if not shorter), and you can go between the different tunes.

Usually, the tunes are as follows:
87 tune for 87 octane gas.
Towing tune (usually for 91 or 92 octane gas, although that can be changed)
Performance tune (also called the 91 or 92 tune, for 91 or 92 octane usually)

pm sent

Hemifever said alot of people run the 5.2 PCM with a 360 conversion without issue, I wonder what would happen if I picked up a Superchips off of craigslist since there is not a different one for the 318 or 360 if it would work as well?

Only other hurdle with a used one is my truck is a manual and Dodge didn't put a manual behind the 360 in 1/2 ton trucks on the 2500.

Hmm I am liking the Superchips or Hypertech option anyone think that will screw anything up?
