i just learned the other day what that sensor reads. the exciter ring in the differential sends out a magnetic pulse or something to that effect and it is attached to the carrier right beside the ring gear.
what are the chances that there is a chunk of debris floating around in the differential that could have knocked a tooth off the ring, or at least dented/chipped a tooth on it?
or what are the chances that a carrier bearing is shot and making the exciter ring wobble?
