Default What's it cost for the front four ball jonts?

My 13 year old 1500 is wearing out. 246k miles. I thought it needed aligning and the shop called and said it needs all new ball joints. They are all original. Should it cost $900-1000 for the four?

For a dealer with factory parts?
If yes seems a bit high, about right for a 2500 if a dealer is doing the work

My truck is a bit different but I bought all Moog parts to include all tie rods, bar ends and 4 ball joints off of EBay for $300...a freaking steal compared to what the stealership and local parts stores wanted. I'm currently installing them myself; a battle, but I will win. I also threw in a double shock steering stabilizer from skyjacker to help out with the 18" tires and steering.

It would help if you filled out your profile info so we'd know if your truck was 2 or 4 wheel drive. There's a difference in repair cost between the two.
