what is the plenum gasket is it the samething as a intake gasket

Yes, original engine,valve covers and oil pan have never been taken off.

Technically no, but some people will use the terms interchangably. The planum gasket is the gasket the is between the intake manifold and the pan that is bolted to the bottom of the intake manifold.

There's a TSB on it, but the quick and easy way is to take your air intake off, open the butterflys on the tb with one hand, and shine a flashlight down into the bottom of the intake manifold. If you see wet oil, escpially pooled up in the corners (you'll need a little mirror to see into the back of the intake), then your plenum gasket is blown.

If your mechnaically inclined, you can do it yourself. Takes about a day, or else two half days. If you pay to have a mechanic do it, figure 6-8 hours of labor, plus parts. So probably run you $400-$600 total. Advantage of doing it yourself is you can mod your intake while you have it off.
