I agree, may be as simple as the lower hose connection at the new water pump leaking.

Thanks guys, I am going to check everything again to see if it is running down from a connection somewhere else.

Well, the truck is back in the shop. they are going to put it back on the rack and try to track down this mystery leak. Since it only leaks for about 5 minutes then stops, they need to have the truck there so they can catch the leak right when it starts. I am completey baffled with this strange leak.

Almost sounds like a seal that when everything gets warm and expanded, the leak quits. My money is on the water pump as well. Could be a hose clamp too considering that if you are using those old clamp and release styles, that they can be a little bit of a pain to get them to sit right.

I checked all of the clamps and they are new. When you say that you think its the water pump, are you saying that it could be defective?

Sounds like you and I have the same problem. I had mine pressure tested though...and it is cracked. Same signs and symptoms, only my heat works on/off though. While im replacing mine, since the truck is 12 years old, i'm also going to replace the fan clutch....I think mine is makin clicking sounds.

Mind you..the OEM lasted that long....im impressed....170k and still movin

I guess the shop will figure it out tomorrow. I figured if if was a crack, it would leak all the time. If it is a crack, then I am going to have to hope that O'riellys would honor the POs receipt for the 6 month old radiator thats in it.
