Front wheel flew off at 75mph!
Driving for extended periods of time on a worn hub bearing can cause a very scary situation... as huttbutt can attest to.
I see so many Dodges driving down the road and just by looking at them can tell the hub bearings or ball joints are absolute toast because the tire is leaning on an 85 degree angle. Thats scary!

x2. I can't imagine an entire assembly just "flying off" the spud without some sort of warning. Where did the brake caliper and brake pads go? I want to see pics before I believe any of this.
i would agree, he should have felt something, i had a tire fall off my C-10, long story short, i never changed the brakes on the rearend before so i had a friend do it, friend didn't torque the lugs, 40 miles north of atlanta my truck was vibrating soo bad i could hardly see the road, the more you pressed on the gas the more it would vibrate, as i pulled off the highway is when my tire fell off. luckily it was the back tire and not the front.

We were going up that road in my friends truck when he started hearing a whining noise and he slowed down and kept watching his front tire. Eventually it pretty much just fell over (didn't come off) and we had to wait 3 hours for a tow truck. We could follow the trail of the wheel bearing guts for about 50 feet.
Ah man walks towing lol they use to pull people out of my spot all the time. I've probably seen you around town, I drive a black tinted 97 1500 with a big *** skin industries decal on the back. I work over @ AccuWeather in town
I'd replace them ASAP, note the drivers side front wheel...its sitting at an angle.

Wheel came off mt V.W. Bug one time, we were going around a long sweeping downhill turn @ about 50 when the LR wheel came off, my wife said "whats that noise" And as the wheel rolled past us I told her it was that tire that's not supposed to be way over there. we both startrd laughing our asses off till it crashed through someones glass patio door.
We sat on the top of the bridge waiting for rides home and drank beers out of a cooler in our tuxes on the top of the bridge sidewalk......The cops even let us it was weird. We gave the limo driver a ride home and he quit and left the limo to be impounded since he couldnt reach anyone at his company...
Sorry for the long story but I just thought it was funny...
^ thats funny, limo driver quit, sort of reminds me of the movie Stripes when Bill Murray was driving the old biatch in the cab and decided to quit on a bridge & tossed the car keys into the river lol
Couple months ago, noticed a genII sitting on his front left rotor after he had exited the highway. He was at the end of the ramp as it merged onto a city street. Heavy traffic and was in wifes car so nothing I could do to help (or I would of). No tire in sight though, he was at the top of a fairly long hill so could of been anywhere.
Id like to see pics too. If there was no cotter pin & the axle nut came off guess the rotor/wheel could come off together but think it would have to bust the caliper to do that?
