Default Very little heat.

I live in Ohio and its been very cold and been snowing non stop and my 99 Ram has no heat. I put a new stat, cap and water pump in it this fall. The temp gauge comes up to 180 or so but the air coming out of the vents is just luke warm.

Also every once in a while when I shut the truck off I smell coolant coming from the engine compartment. I havent lost any coolant, the oil is clean and its not burning it out the tailpipes. Could this also be part of my heater problem? I really havent taken a good look yet under the hood because its snowing like hell and my truck wont fit in the garage anymore. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

The truck is a 99 1500 4x4 5.9 auto
