Default Tune up

Well it's the dreaded tune-up time for me. I was just wondering what you guys have had the best luck with plugs and wires. Or if it even matters what I use. Lemme know! Thanks!

That's funny that you call it dreaded, I love doing tune-ups on my Ram. I look forward to it actually. I used to do it once a year weather I needed it or not. I only put about 10k on my truck in a year, so it usually didn't need much. I just think so many major problems can be avoided if you take the time to do tune-ups more often, escpecially looking at your plugs and at your cap contacts.

Anyway, I really like the Champion copper plugs that are stock on our trucks, and I also like the Autolite 3923's that are one temp range cooler, and a little shorter. For wires, I run Mopar Performance 7.5mm wires. They look great because they are in Mopar blue, but are also sufficiently shielded. Don't forget your cap and rotor. Get ones with brass terminals. I usually buy mine from Napa. Also, a new PCV is usually a good idea, as is a new air filter.

Cheap ones work great on my truck also.I tried the high end cap and rotor form NAPA once and it missed, sputtered, and backfired.Took it off and put the cheapest Duralast cap and rotor from Autozone and it's been smooth as silk ever since.

Whatever you do, get copper plugs and not platinum.. I hear our trucks don't like Platinums.

I've used autolite plugs for 34 years.Never one problem.I always put a dab of anti-seize on the threads so they remove easily.

Champion RC12LC4s, MSD Street Fire wires, NAPA brass cap and rotor, NAPA coil. A winning combination.

Whatever you do, get copper plugs and not platinum.. I hear our trucks don't like Platinums.
Its not that our trucks dont like Platinum plugs, the cost is not worth a gain of nothing.
