2-3in lift
anybody know a quick and easy way to do a 2 or 3in lift? or something to buy like blocks or somethin. and i do NOT want a body lift. cheaper the better. but i'd like to hear most anything. pics are good.
here is what i did on my 99 sport......i took out the stock springs up front, and replaced them with coils from a 2005 ram 3500 cummins
....that gave me 4 inches up front....and then i added a leveling kit on top of that for about 5.5-6 inches of lift up front... now...for the rear...do one of a few things...you can add a leaf...or do what i did and take out your stock 3" block and replace it with a 6" block. (i also added a leaf in rear). hell stack up some blocks if ya want. be careful how high you get with stock stuff....you may need to get extended shocks....drop pitman arm....brake lines.....and dont forget about driveline angles......when doing blocks in the rear remember that blocks that have an angle on them will help with your driveshaft to rear angle. im now on 35's
you can do a very very cheap 3" lift for under a hundred dollars by getting a set of used coils like i said from a local junkyard for the front and then either doing an add a leaf in rear, or just stack a 3" block on your existing 3" block and get longer "U" bolts. be careful stacking blocks tho, and check on them from day to day, you may need to give them a whack with a hammer to straighten them back out from time to time.
