My 01 Ram with the 5.2L is getting horrible mileage. I know 12 to 14 MPGs is the norm, at least thats what my friends have said who also drive Rams. The odometer is at 94k. Also I drive very conservatively, the truck shifts around 2000 to 2500 RPMs. Any ideas? Could it be a clogged Cat? Im about ready to sell the truck. 8 MPGs? I may as well be driving a school bus.
Could be the plenum, clogged cat as you mentioned or pre-cat O2 sensor.

Um yea, only thing that has good city mpg's is a car. I get about 8-10 city and 12-15 highway.

I get 11-13 city.
You probably have 3:55's. Plus when I drive I actually want to get there in a timely manor. No other way to drive in Sin City! I have to drive out to Ole Miss to help my friend move home, I'll hypermile it out there and see what kind of #'s I get.

What is hypermiling? According to a a fantastic August 2006 story in the Washington Post, it is a method of increasing your car's gas mileage by making skillful changes in the way you drive, allowing you to save gas and thereby have an easier time withstanding the rising oil and gas prices.
