I have the sub box that gos under the rear seat that holds 2 12in subs. I have 2 Rockford Fosgate P3's and a sony 1200watt amp. I also have a phase liner uv8 head unit. Now they been in there for about 4 mouths and i feel that it should be hitting alot harder then it is. My buddy got the same box and 2 sony sub and 1000 watt amp and it is SSOOOOOO much londer then mine. I know there are some of you guys on here that know alot more then i do about audio so what am i doing wrong.

 

Damaging you hearing.

 

How are your speakers wired? are they 4 or 8 ohm? how many channels is your sony? Many different reasons that he could be louder. Are your pre out's on the radio 2v or 4v? What kind of amp does your buddy have? A jl 250.1 has more power than a 1000w xplod. Brands do make a difference.

 

i have a 10in kicker L5 550 RMS, Sony Xplode 1000 watt amp, 2 6x9 alpine speakers in door, and 2 6 1/2 in jensons in a a custom box...i have a 1.5 farad capacitor, bigger power wires than average, and a Eclipse cd4000 5v pre-out head unit.


mine pounds, on the head unit i have the bass at -6, and on the amp its only half way up.

put it this way, in my ol sunfire i had i was runnin 2 12in. MTX thunders (1800 watts peak power) in a single box, and my little 10in. shallow sub nails harder than that did lol.

 

The amp you have quality wise sucks. I have the same amp for my subs and mine are alright but not where they should be. I posted on some car audio forum awhile back about looking for an amp that was good quality and didn't break the bank.

I'll have to see if I can find it again and post back.

 

i well get you the infor after work i have to get the part number off the amp. I kinda think my head unit is kinda my promblem not powerful enought but i could be wrong the speaks are all so sony and hooked up the factor way

trust me the Eclipse CD4000 5V pre-out is the best HU ive had. when i bought it i bought it with a complete system and thats what the guy told me that would pump out the best juice for subs

but that was 4 years ago they have the CD6000 now...

i listen to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Disturbed, Korn, POD, tool, From autumn to ashes, bob segar, phil collins, and Bone Thugs N Harmoney lol. and they all bump even though some may be light bumbs.
