that could be a pulley rubbing or the belt rubbing. tell him to get a piece of metal (pry bar/tire iron/long socket extension) and press it to his ear and start poking around the accessories to see where the noise is coming from.
also tell him to be careful with the belt because he doesn't want to have that piece of metal to turn into a rocket and violate his ear.

it came out of it and its not doing it now....over the phone it sounded like a rod....but its hard to tell...he said it came out so said run 'ah
