Default Help identifying part

Hi everyone! I need information a 2001 Dodge Ram 1/2T PU 2wd 5.9L. I need to find out what this part is called that is located on the gas pedal, which seems to be connecting to either a cable or sensor. Yesterday, had an incident after replacing the thermostat. Took the truck for a test drive, punched the gas to check if the truck would warm up. Well, after that...the gas pedal popped out, but the truck still went full speed. I am not sure what connects from the gas pedal to the engine, but if someone who knows what they are doing can really help a lot. Thank you!

+1 on throttle cable. Also check and see if it only popped out then you might be able to pop it back in...
