Default Problem with plow and overheating

I have a 1999 dodge ram with a plow. Everything was fine until this summer when I changed the water pump. I think there might be air in the system. Its confusing me though. With the plow off everything is fine. NO problems at all. As soon as I hook up the plow and drive with it the tempature gauge starts to climb. When it gets hot I have to pull over rev it up and I hear gurgling in the heater core and the tempature goes down. Then I drive a few more miles and it heats up again. What is going on here??? Like I said if the plow is off I can drive it all day and it dosen't heat up a bit. Also it never over heated like this with the plow until I changed the water pump. Thats when i assume the AIR got in

first you might have air in the syatem....take the rad cap off and let it run for a bit. second.....you plow might be acting as a windscreen in front of your truck not allowing any airflow into the radiator..........hence...overheating.....when the plow is on the truck only. just an idea...hope it helps make sure your fan is working too

Thanks for the help. Like I said though I never had an issue with the plow before so I know its not the plow blocking the airflow.

Yep, sounds like Air bubbles. Burp the system and see if the problem goes away.

Also moving this to the 2nd Gen Ram section...

I put a new thermostat in. Also new radiator cap new water pump new clutch fan. I have no issues with the heat. Even when my truck is running super hot i still have great heat. I don't know what else it could be

That would make sense except for the fact that I have had the plow for 4 years now. The first 3 were fine. NO issues at all with overheating. Then my waterpump crapped out so i changed it. Ever sense then I have had the issue with the plow
