Mines a 98 slt and I don't have either the Dodge or the 4X4, just bought it used though.

 

Mine didnt have one when i first got it, but i replaced the tailgate from the same year model 1500 which did have the decal. i think it was just an option at the dealer when they were new, because my truck came stock with an offroad package and it didnt have a decal.

 

95 slt Laramie here and ive got dodge and 4x4 on my tail gate..and you can tell there original vinyl cause there chipped and peeling a lil bit LOL

 

my 97 SLT Laramie had it on the old tailgate i smashed and my replacement gate has it too.

 

here i go with honda again, but they do this all the time with mirrors and spoilers, when i worked for a shop that fixed the new ones (like 1 or 2 miles) when a spoiler or mirror was damaged you told them the color and they sent it too us already painted, pretty handy if your in a rush
