Default Dual steering stabilizer

After using the DIY to tweak my steering box I am still unhappy with the results. I am going to replace the still stock steering stabilizer with a skyjacker. Is it worth the money to go with a dual system?

What issues are you experiencing with the steering?

The usual shaking and shimming. This is my 1st lifted, 4WD truck, so I was shocked when I 1st drove it. It was kind of like driving a boat. Just point it in the right direction and adjust as necessary. My '03 Silverado SS is nice and tight even after 145,000 miles. I followed the DIY and did improve the response somewhat, but honestly am a little unsure of what to expect from a truck with a 5" lift, and 35 inch tires. It is a little spooky to get on this V10 without 100% control of where this damn rocket is going.....

Sounds like it is a worn steering component, possibly the trac bar that goes from drivers frame to passenger side of axle.

Also it could be something as simple as getting an alignment done if it hasn't had one since the lift was installed.

Got a new heavy duty track bar, wheel bearings done in July. The alignment might just be the ticket...stupidly I had not thought of that!

i had the same problem with my truck i replaced all frontend parts and tightened the steering box and it helped but still wasnt perfect i went and got a dual stabilizer kit from topguncustomz.com its made by roughcountry i paid 103 shiped to my door and that made an inprovment. but a buddy of mine has a silverado and when he put bigger tires on it he could barley keep it on the road he got Hypertech powerprogrammer and theres a tires and wheels adjustment in tuner and he put in his tire size and it corrected everything he said. hope this can help ya

all a simmy shock does is try to
mask another problem ,,,it could be a loose berring/ball joint/tie rod end/bushings...all can be ''amplefied'' by the bigger tires and may not show huge signs of wear...a little slack in a few places adds up quick......fix the problem before you try to treat the symptons

a front end without problems should be able to run without a ss.
As someone else said, all it does is mask a real problem...kinda like a band aid fix,
