Default Distributor Chirp?

I've got a chirp coming from the rear of the engine. Sounds like it's coming from the distributor area. It's not a constant whine, more of a chirp-chirp-chirp-chirp. I'm guessing it's from the distributor shaft rubbing on the housing. Or maybe the rotor is rubbing in the cap? I think the chirp was there before cap and rotor replacement, but I don't remember. The chirp shows up AFTER warm up, and I think it goes away after driving a few minutes. (maybe I'll check when I get home tonight)

Anyone have similar experience? The cap it's self was a great big pain, I can imagine the distributor to be even worse. Would it help to remove the wiper assembly cowl from the firewall or no?

Thanks.
