Default stock gears

hey i was just wondering if there is a sticker somewhere to tell you what gears your truck came with, i checked inside the drivers door and under the hood and i didnt see anything, im guessing theyre 3.55 if the PO didnt change them, i was wondering more if there is a way to tell if theyre LSD, or open ended

The sticker may be in the glove box or check the carrier itself.

Very easy way to tell if you have an open or LSD.

Jack the rear end of the truck up so that both tires are off the ground. Roll one tire back and forth (it'll spin just a little without much resistance). If the other tire spins in the opposite direction, you have an open. If not, you have a LSD.

Thats how I figured out mine was an open before I even acquired my build sheet.

While you have it jacked up for the above test, make a mark on the drive shaft. Turn the tires one full rotation, and count how many times your mark on the driveshaft goes around. That will tell your gear ratio.

Besides the under hood sticker on mine,my original rear(long gone) had a metal tag on one of the cover bolts that simply read, 35 on it. Meaning it had open 3.55 gearing. I was told if it was a LSD it would have read,35L.
