Last truck I had was a man. shift.I got very tired of changing gears and will not own another.
i actually like selecting my own gear and am quiet used to it from driving the 10 speed KWs on the farm and the 9 speed Ford (that truck is such a dog when loaded, the 3406 cat it has only runs 1800 rpm and is only rated at 350 horse, the KWs on the other hand move out pretty damn good, the extra gear and higher horsepower 380 and 450 really make em move)
318/5 speeds are a good combo. I dream of a 360/5 speed parked outside
Too bad they never made them in a 1/2 ton. You could only get a 360 with a 5-speed if it was a 2500 or 3500. Then you got the NV 4500. Someday I'd like to create my dream Dodge using only stock parts. 2001 1500 QCLB 4x4 Sport Off-Road 360 NV4500 Amber Fire SLT Plus with SS/T wheels.
change that 360 out for a 12 valve cummins and put a dana 60 up front and an 80 in the rear...now that would be a sick truck (pull the hell outta your trailer too)

why not just get a 2500 manual, throw some sport bumpers, grille and headlights on it then paint it amber fire? then you would have a stronger truck that would only be lacking the wheels.

Now thats thinking with yr dipstick! haha hell he wouldn't even have to throw the sport bumper/grill/headlights on it either if he found the right truck. My buddys truck would have been a perfect starting point purpl.. but he traded it in on an 08 ram. His truck was...
01 2500 4x4 5.9 gas, sport, dana 60's w/ 4.10s (stock). Would have just had to swap to the manual trans, and paint it up.

Averaging 36,000 miles per year over the past 11 years in my truck, my right arm and left foot would be disabled by now.LOL!!
