You don't smell oil vapors in your truck? I used a regular crankcase breather for the PCV and it worked fine but if I don't have the A/C or heat on recycle all those fumes enter the truck and give me a massive migraine haha.

OK, I checked the manual and according to it that hose does indeed go to the valve cover and not the PCV valve. I looked at mine on my truck and it goes from the air intake via a short hose to a fixture mounted in a rubber grommet on top of the driver side valve cover. Chrysler did away with the filter, so the crankcase air now goes into the intake tract unfiltered. The PCV valve is a separate circuit using a smaller diameter hose and is mounted below the air cleaner and connected directly to the throttle body on V8 models. On the V10 it is the same with the exception that it is referred to as a CCV (Crank Case Vent) valve since it does not use engine vacuum like a PCV valve, and the hose goes from the valve cover to the passenger side of the intake manifold. Neither of these hoses should be left open to the atmosphere.

Glad you trusted our answers so much that you had to go check the manual, only to come back with the same thing we had already said.

Miami- one small correction, On V8 models the PCV hose is connected directly to the passenger side of the intake manifold, not the throttle body.

Ya, I asked about your V10. But this is what you wrote (and this is about the V8):
"OK, I checked the manual and according to it that hose does indeed go to the valve cover and not the PCV valve."

That's exactly what we had been saying.

Just giving you a hard time. Relax. Don't make me ban you.

Yup, at least that is how it is on my '99. Not sure what year manaul Miami was looking in though. I know the PCV switched to the driver side in '00 or '01, so maybe they started routing it to the TB then too. Here's a pic of mine though. You can clearly see the hose coming off the back of the passenger side valve cover where the PCV is going directly to the side of the intake manifold.

Try it! Your powers are puny compared to mine. Mwaahaahaaaa!

I looked in the Xmas present manual. It has a cutaway diagram showing the hose connected to the throttle body, but it may be a standard illustration and not entirely specific to the Ram V8.
