If you have stock gears with those tires, your asking for tranny troubles.

Be aware that the early RH 4 x 4 transmissions were longer than the RE due to the RH having the mechanical governor in the tail housing.
RE series transmissions have electronic governor control in the valvebody.

Mechanically from a strength standpoint, the RH and RE are equally durable.
The RE adds the electronic components which are prone to failure, although they're easily replaced.
The RH with its' mechanical governor is more basic in its' operation and dependability.

that pretty much nails it....the "46" means they are rated at the same strength...and you cant run a 46re off and older obd1 computer setup as the wiring is different.
Theoretically the 46re shiftpoints can be reprogrammed with a software change to the tcm unlike the mechanical 46rh as well...Although I'm not sure if any tuners actually do this as of yet..
