Question trans help!!!

i have a 94 ram 1500 with the 5.2 will the transmission bolt up to my 96 5.2? there the same thing just 2 years apart right?

The 94 is most likely a 36RH and the 96 is most likey a 46RE. To be sure more information is needed. Look under the hood above the grille next to the latch at the factory equip. sticker.

They should both be a 46RH tranny.

According to the Haynes Manual(which is wrong alot), There was no 94 models with the 46RH.

94 (and most 95's) will have the 46rh hyd and electronically controlled for od only) and the 96 (like mine which ive confirmed btw) and up will have the 46re (meaning fully electronically controlled) they will not wire up the 46rh has an 3 or 8 pin connecter if I remember correctly and the 46re has a 13 pin (has a tcm) I have heard you can use the old one in the newer truck but will get a cel because the tcm isnt there and also they make a kit for this but its pricey

well i have the 94 just sitting rusting away and my 96 tranny went out so i figured i could just swap them but i guess ill just havve to get it rebuilt

You still may be able to do a swap. But, first you must identify what you have.

well what trans is better/stronger the 46rh or the 46re
