Default New to the forum, Dual Exhaust question.

Hello all, I finally saved enough money to buy a 2nd gen Ram again (bought a 97 new, but sold it a year later when my son was born)
I now have a nice shinny red 2000 off road.

Now to my dual exhaust question. I searched and read previous posts here about true dual exhaust till my head hurt, but I failed to find a simple answer. My local exhaust shop gave me 2 ballpark quotes. $330 for cat back with a flowmaster muffler. and $750 for true duals with the required 2 cats and 2 flowmasters. My question is to those with true duals. Is it worth the extra $420, and is the performance noticably changed? Also did it effect your gas milage?

Thanks in advance.
