Did your kit include metal collector gaskets? If yes did you use them or discard them.

That is how my pacesetters are, but for some reason I thought there might have been some metal rings in the kit like this

I'm pretty sure I have an exhaust leak that I was trying to fix. I tossed the rings after I put the headers in over a year ago, but... finally decided to do something about it. Being the edelbrock gaskets are the only ones I could find... i ordered them but they do not fit. The edelbrock gaskets have a different design. (non tennis ball). I called pacesetter today to see if I am crazy for thinking the kit included them... and he said on an 01 they didn't include them but on a 97 or 98 / below they did? I bought the kit from another member so they may have not been for an 01. Im not sure... either way he said he could sell them to me if I really wanted them. What did the rest of ya's do?

Do they look like coned metal rings? I talked to the tech today and he said that their kit for my truck didn't include them. I could have swore they did come with them... but then again maybe that was the other set of headers. He kept insisting that I can get a set of stock gaskets and he couldn't grasp that they our trucks (v6, v8) don't come with them stock. None the less after I unbolted the y last night and noticed the bolts were pretty loose, i rebolted the y-pipe up nice and tight this afternoon and calling it done. Followed up with an oil change, and a round of seafoam

my summit shorties (pacesetters) came with some crappy donut gaskets. they didnt really do anything. when i put my new cat on, i just lined them up perfectly enough that i didnt need a gasket and tightened enough to make sure there were no leaks.
