It should work. I wouldnt think that there would be near the work you think in it though. Possible that you need to cut into the bottom of the bed flange to make it work. The bumper on my truck was originally designed for a mid 90's stepside Chevy. If you have time you should be able to make it all work right.

I believe that was on here. Probably could search if you wanted to find it.

thanks guys. Will pick up new bumper assembly.I would like to get a fab fours but there is NFW I can put out that kinda money for a bumper.I just dont want to put another 1/16 inch paper thin poo-poo replacement .Hopefully the 3rd gen is a little thicker, plus the trailer plug is up on the bumper where it should be.Hell,I'd even put a chevy bumper on if it was cheap enough.I just had a truck return from the body shop with a new rear bumper, and it was 1/8 thick, which looked pretty stout.I would put that on my truck but my boss would fire me,so thats out.Mayber I'll buy a plasma cutter and design somthing like a fusion bumper without the license cutout. That would look a lil bit money....

I would make sure and take some measurments before hand for sure. I have a brand new Ranchhand rear replacement I bought for a 3rd gen, didn't keep the truck so it is sitting in the garage. I was gonna put it on my truck.

Now I am not certain because I never tried to put it on the truck so this is just a heads up to check before purchasing the bumper because I did measure and the ranchhand was 7 inches longer than the stock one and the mounting location was about 5 inches farther out in each direction and I guess the best way to say it was they face differently. I am sure you could make a custom bracket though.

Now this bumper is a direct bolt on in place of the factory one for a 3rd gen so I would just advise measuring before you buy to make sure.

Also I know someone on here said they tried very hard and couldn't get a factory 3rd gen bumper on his 2nd gen.

I hope you get it done just wanted to give you a heads up.
