transmission slow to shift out of second

Hey Xray, with mine the the push tab on the top of the engine didn't do the trick so I did it the way I said, but you are right he (or anyone) should try the top adjustment first.

took it to shop today. broken band. 1200.00 dollar rebuild. still say life would be so much better if vehicles had no computers and all had manuel transmissions.

manual trannys have their fair share of problems that autos don't, hope it works out for ya.
$1,200 is pretty cheap if you're talking a complete, quality rebuild.

Man.... if it shifted in to second at all I cant see how a band was broken. But I don't know everything about a transmission its just that my 01 2500 V10 did the exact same thing and the throttle valve cable is all that was wrong with it. Anyway I guess it never hurts to have a good rebuild.

I dont understand it either, and would not beleive it myself if he was not a trusted family friend. He does really good work and is giving me a break on the price. It is for a complete rebuild and will also fix my leaking transfer case.
