Will Jet chips stage 2 over ride deathflash?
Hey guys, This has probably been brought up before but I can't find the answer for it so I'll try here. I have a 99 1500 with the 5.9 and have the basics done like intake and exhaust so I've been looking for a tuner or programmer for a good price and found a guy who sold me his stage 2 jet chips programmer for $50 so I was wondering will this over ride the "death flash" I think my truck has it done, it has the sticker under the hood that says flash programming done or something, Any ideas??? Thanks
No. I asked this same question a couple of weeks back (titled Jet Performance Module I think) and the overwhelming answer was that they are junk, of absolutely no use. The reason i asked was because my truck is a 95 (OBD I emissions)and there are no tuners for it. Since your truck is OBDII, there are all kinds of tuners available, SuperChips, SCT, etc. Spend the money and get one of these. IMO that's the biggest problem with our trucks is the awful tuning, get a good tune and it will be a different truck.
Yea I wanted a superchips 3815 but I couldn't find one for less than $250 and I thought I was getting a good deal paying $50 for this jet programmer considering they retail for over $200 but now I'm a little nervous has anyone had ANY good experiance with these??? Or should I try to sell it???

Well I got the stage 2 jet chip today but you guys have me worried now so I think I'll try to sell it and make some money rather than run into problems.
I'm hearing nothing good about this thing. I've been looking at the Superchips Flashpaq but I'm finding 2 part numbers that say they'll work on my 99, 3815 and 3865 anyone have any experiance with these???
Death flash is the post-production computer tune that Dodge did to teach the computer to compensate for the leaking plenum gasket. It was such a great idea to Band Aid the problem instead of fixing it...
