Default 1st gen bumper on 2nd gen truck

my truck has a 1st gen rear bumper on it that the PO had installed because the original rusted out (all that was recognizable was the tow ball lol) and he got the 1st gen bumper for free. so my question is are these bumpers interchangeable because frankly it looks terrible and if i could find a 2nd gen bumper for cheap to put back i would... but if i have to change anything to put one back on there i will just leave it.

D150's have the best bumpers in my opinion for resistence to rust, they'er solid steel, the 2nd gen bumpers are chrome plate, which are junk. id consider just getting a roll pan in the back an using a hidden hitch. thats what im about to do...

I like the 2nd gen bumpers because they crumple nicely in accidents. They save the rest of the truck. However like the others said, a First gen should fit.

the 1st gen bumper is already installed on the truck. the PO had it put on a couple years ago. i am thinking of putting a 2nd gen bumper back on there, not the other way around. i was just wondering if he had to do any modification to put the 1st gen bumper on there because if so i wasnt going to even think about butting a 2nd gen bumper back, but since they mount the same maybe i will. sorry for the confusion.
