Default Debating selling my truck. What's it worth?

I'm thinking about selling my 1997 dodge ram 1500 slt with the 5.9. I might be having to travel a good bit this summer for work so i'm looking into buying a diesel or maybe a honda civic.

Extras include: power sunroof, tint, remote start, keyless entry, sony explode headunit and ipod cable, two amps, jensen speakers, 3" suspension lift, 17x9 dick cepek dc-1 black wheels, 33x12.50r17 mickey thompson tires, matching truck cap, extra wheels and tires, bedliner, nerf bars, k&n, and probably some more little things i forget.

I really hate to sell it...maybe i'll just buy a cheap little car to save on gas. Not sure. Just wanting to see what people think it's worth. It has 84,000 miles

only problem with that is its for a stock truck...he has $$ in addons which he could recoup some of....and it makes it appealing to younger kids....(who dont always pay on market value but rather what they've got and how bad they want it, throw in impatience to boot and you could make out)

Unless you get the right buyer, the above upgrades don't do anything for the resale value. May even hurt it with some buyers, as they'll assume you abused it. (Not saying that you have, just saying that they will assume.)

$3500 is about right. According to edmunds.com, IMO the most realistic appraiser of a vehicle (NADA ain't bad either, but KBB is inflated for the $tealerships), if you had every option in the book (including rear factory LSD and leather seats), you'd have a private party value of about $3650. I'd start off asking $4000-$4500 with the extra wheels, and be willing to negotiate.

A dealership would probably start the "asking price" at $4500-$5000.

Around here, you'd prob get 4000 relatively easily, or 4500 if you waited around a while.

Region is a HUGE factor though.

It would probably be better to take off some of the extras i put on and sell them seperate. I've still got all the stock stuff so i could sell the lift, wheels, and tires seperate to try to get some of the money back i've put in it

Just trying to sell a truck now adays is really hard, considering our trucks arent the most fuel friendly things on the road, you might want to target a younger person for their first ride and such. But an everyday working person going from point a to point b isnt going to be interested in buying it for any thing more than $4000 thats why i only said $3500
