Sledge hammer and beat the **** outta the pipe, instead of constant pressure usually the back to back wacks with the sledge will break it loose

If you can't get it try this, Pull the hub and axle as 1 peace, get a bud to drive you to a shop with air tools and have them run the nut off for you. Just an idea.

As many have said leverage....
I used a 3/4" drive and a 4 foot piece of 1 1/4" galvanized pipe from Lowes.
left the wheel on and didn't have the jack under it till I got the nut to start moving.

Check the threads trough the castleated nut to see what way it needs to turn, I think it was Sheriff mentioned a way (if you're not familiar with left and right hand threads)

I think you're 1/2" breaker bar is gonna break.... if its not budging it

did my passenger side last summer. Took 3 days, 4 mechanic friends, 2 floor jacks, 3 cans of penitraiting oil, 100 miles of driving to find parts in my sisters grand Cherokee, a torch, a carton of cigarettes, it was dark and I was wearing sun glasses. (had to throw in the blues brothers)

2 of the mechanics said they usually see them at the shop towed in and the hub in pieces and that makes it easier for them. I agree that with kids, you cannot wait for that to happen.

It's going to be real tough to get it off. Gonna need alot of heat, penitraiting oil, hammers or impact gun to vibrate it. Good luck and you will get it off eventually. Make sure you have water or an extinguisher when you heat it. The oil can start to burn.

ok after jumping on my 1/2 in breaker, she snapped.....go figure.

thank god i still have my 1/2 in torque wrench so i could get my wheel back on.

went to sears and got a 20in. 3/4 in breaker bar and got 2feet of some heavy duty piping for leverage (65 bucks...god damn)

hopefully this will be enough to budge it, and now just my luck it started snowing...wtf

also according to my haynes repair manual, it said the DRIVERS side was reverse threaded...said nothing about the pass. side (which is the one im doing)
