has anyone made their own skid plate? any pictures? if you made your own or bought on, how does it attach to the frame? has anyone made a full underneath skid plate?
I made one back in highschool for my Jimmy, came out pretty sweet although i dont have pictures any more it was fairly easy, i used dimond plate that bolted to the frame, ran from the oil pan back to the middle of the tranny. Just get creative with some plate steel or in my case dimond plate, just measure measure measure measure and then cut and measure again. Just Remember it's steel not wood so it's a little more forgiving.
well id like one in the front that goes at a 45 or something like that. im not sure how you would do that because its a straight axle and not ifs, so theres nothing to tie it into, itd just be hanging there...
It may be a Dakota but it can give you Ideas. I have made 2 of my Skid plates. I found 3 factory skid plates in the junk yard that I installed. Here is the link with pics. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...-plates-2.html
