Default Intake and tune up

I'm getting ready to talk to my mechanic about doing a huge spring tune-up on my truck. I don't have a plenum issue, but I'd rather fix it now than later. I was looking at www.hughesengines.com and found this.

http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...p?partid=24773

Would this be a good thing to get. I also plan on doing a full tune-up, wires, plugs, dist, the whole works. Eventually in the summer headers. So I guess is the F1 a good one to get or is there something better.

How is your truck running now ? If it's not using oil, pinging(spark knock),sputtering, missing, throwing codes,or stalling.......leave it alone. IMHO, the M1 is a $599.00 + tax and shipping bunch of bull$hit.

It's running ok. It's at the mechanics now cus it randomly won't start. It turns over, but it's not starting. Charging system is fine as well as the battery. Everything is getting spark. So it's either the pump or a filter or some stupid sensor. As for the M1, is there a cheaper solution? And why not replace it before it goes out?

Well, it's just a gasket that blows out, and yours may not blow out. If it does, then fix it. I'm just trying to tell you "If it's not broke, don't fix it" and save you some $$$

It WILL blow out, all our trucks have this problem.

you could do the Hughes plenum reenforcment kit (86 bucks) and do a kegger mod, and have it port and polished at machine shop.

for all that it cost me this

Hughes Plenum plate w/second day air- $116.00
Intake ported and polished- $40.00
Kegger Mod- $25.00

and let me tell you my 5.9L has 198K and she got ***** to the wall...huge difference was gained.

and i also did cap/rotor/plugs/wires/coil. you will see a huge gain...at least i did in performance and MPG's

Did you keep the same intake, but just did the kegger mod?

well it is the same intake, just m boss gave me one from his truck cuz he was rebulding it, so i had the stuff done before i stated.

heres of a pic after they ported and polished it. unfortunatly i dont have a pic of the kegger mod.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/members...th-hughes.html

and that intake was completely black. and i tried orange clean and scrubbing, aircraft remover, seafoam, brake cleaner, and nothing would clean it...then i paid 40 bucks to get it to look like that.

Cap, If your truck is running well, and your plenum gasket is in good shape(it may have already been repaired), why not shop around for all the performance parts you would like to have. Then, install them when you get what you want. That way, you get exactly what you want, at a good price, and your truck will only be down one time. If ca$h and time are no object, well ok. Just something to think about, I hope you don't think I'm trying to tell you, what, or how to do this.
